April 21st 2017:- I have reached the big scene in the book, but felt as if I couldn’t write it this morning. I don’t know if I have to be in a particular mood to do it, or if I’m just scared of it and don’t want to start yet. I’ve got to though, this whole book leads to this point and the passage has to be right and it has to be totally foul and frightening. I’m still slightly under 1,000 words a day, but I don’t care about that anymore because it looks as if I should be able to finish the book within the next maybe three days, which will mean that I’ve done the first draft in about two and one half months roughly. I’m looking forward to stopping now.
