16. WRITING CEPHALINA… new developments

February 25th 2017: I made up for my hopelessness yesterday and wrote more 1,000 words today, and a new idea came to me which will increase the tension, create another setting for my characters to evolve in, and also, I hope from the readers’ point of view, be a fairly serious development in the story, and this is to do with taboos and boundaries over which my characters might appear to be stepping. By this time the main male character will start to appear extraordinarily naïve viewed through 21st century eyes but that in itself will establish another conflict because the way the Victorians thought and the way we think, I believe, is very different in many respects.

I had another time saving idea as well. I can never remember whether I have written the chapter headings in capitals or not, so now I have reached chapter eight, for tomorrow’s work I have written CHAPTER EIGHT after the page break and CHAPTER NINE below it. So the work will fit in between the two chapter headings and I’ll repeat the same for the chapters that follow. Means I don’t have to scroll back and check out the layout details of the manuscript. So today I’m pleased and I’ve made up for yesterday.
