10. WRITING THE CHILD CEPHALINA… my flow has returned

February 19th 2017: At last I’ve got my flow back. I haven’t gained in word number but lost a bit, I’m averaging out at 926 words per day, so just under the target, but today’s words were much less grinding and difficult than those from yesterday and the day before, so I reckon I will catch up with the word score soon. I’m now into chapter six. I have started to keep track of the passing of time now by highlighting any phrases relating to time so I don’t have to remember whether the story has moved to May 1851, or June of the same year and so on. It can be easy to forget those small details when you’re right in the thick of it. On the whole, I’m pleased with it… it’s moving in the right direction without too much revealing information just yet. I haven’t had any completely new ideas, but a couple of good pieces of dialogue came to me, and dialogue sections are very handy for shifting the mood or tone.
